Who We Are

Partnerships

As a part of both our advocacy and education work, we partner with a wide variety of nonprofit organizations in our community. We are members of the following coalitions/partnerships/allies and work closely with them on a wide variety of advocacy and educational issues within the community.

ANACOSTIA COORDINATING COUNCIL
The Anacostia Coordinating Council (ACC) was established in 1983 as a volunteer, membership consortium of organizations and individuals involved with the revitalization of Anacostia and its adjacent neighborhoods. Founded to organize community support for getting the Anacostia Metro Station built, the ACC has expanded to address a large amount of issues that face the community.

DC CLIMATE COALITION

The DC Climate Coalition is a group of DC businesses, justice advocacy groups, and other organizations that banded together to pass the Clean Energy DC Omnibus Amendment Act of 2018, or “Clean Energy DC Act.” This bill passed in December 2018 and is now law! Now the coalition is dedicated to swift and equitable implementation of this key policy, and continues to move the District towards becoming a leader on climate action.

DC FAIR BUDGET COALITION

The Fair Budget Coalition advocates for budget and public policy initiatives that address poverty and human needs in the District of Columbia. The Fair Budget Coalition accomplishes these goals by leveraging the collective power of its member organizations, including working with social service providers to empower those directly affected by poverty to participate in the advocacy process.

DC FAIR ELECTIONS COALITION

The DC Fair Elections Coalition's mission is to pass meaningful campaign finance reform in DC to empower everyday residents and make sure every voice is heard in our democracy.

DC VOTE

DC Vote is a national citizen engagement and advocacy organization dedicated to strengthening democracy and securing equality for all in the District of Columbia. DC Vote is the convener of the DC Statehood Local Table, which serves as a clearinghouse for many organizations, including LWVDC, to keep each other up to date on their activities and projects.

We are always interested in expanding our partnerships. If you know of a group that works towards an issue that might align with our positions and our mission, please contact us at lwvdc@lwvdc.org.
