About this event
Join us at Ward 6 Public Schools Parent Organization's annual Walk and Roll to School Day event at Lincoln Park. We will help voters register and update their registration, provide Vote411 information, and share fun giveaways. The 7:30-8:15am event features student performances (elementary school cheerleaders, Eastern HS marching band), local and national 'safe routes to school', fitness, and road safety advocates and agencies, and is emceed by Ward 6 Councilmember. After a short program, everyone rushes off to get to school on time. 16+ local schools are invited to the event that typically draws 300 participants.
Arrive at 7am for set up. Lincoln Park is directly east of the U.S. Capitol, bounded by 11th Street NE and SE on the west, 13th Street NE and SE on the east, East Capitol Street NE on the North, and East Capitol Street SE on the south. Set up on the east side, near Mary McLeod Bethune statue.
To volunteer, you must have completed the online voter registration training. Please click HERE to access the online training and be sure to click the "verification" button at the bottom of the training page when you are finished.
