Aoife O’Donovan and Bonny Light Horseman with the NSO Concert
About this event
On October 22, The Kennedy Center will have an exciting one-night-only double bill concert featuring Aoife O’Donovan and Bonny Light Horseman with the NSO. The main featured piece of the evening is Aoife’s song, "America, Come," which is a song cycle inspired by the women's suffrage movement, celebrating the passage of the 19th Amendment and the century-long fight for women’s rights. Aoife’s work draws from historical speeches, letters, and the spirit of activism from that era, modernized with a poignant message about democracy and womanhood. Aoife’s powerful compositions will be brought to life with the accompaniment of over 100 voices from a girls’ choir.
LWVDC will be tabling at The Kennedy Center to connect with NSO concert patrons and educate them on the work we do, voter registration, and DC Statehood. Set-up will take place from 6:00 - 7:00pm and tabling will be from 7:00 - 8:00pm.
*Registration for this event is for volunteering to table, and does not provide entry to the show.
