On Tuesday, February 13 at 11:00am, LWVDC volunteers will provide refreshments for new citizens and their families. We will provide coffee, juice and water along with breakfast breads, muffins and fruit at a buffet reception on the 6th Floor of the U.S. District Courthouse.
League volunteers will bring in food, drinks, and tableware at 7:45am, host the reception at 11:00am and remove trash by noon.
Transporting food, drinks, tableware will be through the loading dock and setup needs to be completed by 9:30am. Cars transporting food will need to access the loading dock and this information will be provided for anyone transporting food and tableware. Myra Woods, who is taking the lead on the reception, will clear this with the Clerk of the Court.
Volunteers will participate in 3 short planning meetings. Activities will be to purchase reception food and drink items between 2/10 and 2/12, host the Reception on 2/13: deliver to the courthouse, set up the reception room and tables, replenish food and drink, clean-up by noon.
Volunteers needed:
- 2 for drinks and fruit (to make fruit bowls)
- 1 to deliver stuff to courthouse
- 2 to manage the buffet (purchase breads, muffins, etc.) and 1 to deliver to courthouse
- 3 to set up, replenish, and clean up
