October 29 New Citizen Naturalization Ceremony
About this event
The DC District Court has resumed Naturalization Ceremonies and invites LWVDC to come and register new voters. The ceremonies are planned to take place on the second Tuesday of each month in the District Court Courthouse.
Our continuing success at these events depends on you! We need volunteers, every month, to carry out our mission. The ceremonies will continue to be held at the US District Court Courthouse, at 333 Constitution Ave NW. We will have the opportunity to interact with 100 to 125 new citizens every month. If you speak a foreign language—Spanish, French, Amharic, Korean, Chinese, or others—even better to help explain what we do, and how to register, to non-native speakers. You needn’t volunteer every month, but a big pool will enable us to cover the monthly ceremonies. With your support we can help our newest citizens become responsible voters.
To sign up for training sessions and to volunteer, you must be an active member of LWVDC and must login to your LWVDC account to register for both training and volunteering sessions. If you need any help logging in to your account, please contact Lee Palmer at technology@lwvdc.org.
Please remember to login before you register or you will not see any registration buttons.
Questions? Send an email to Ann Castiglione Cataldo at naturalizations@lwvdc.org. Please arrive at the Court 30 minutes early. Security lines can be challenging. Registration forms are distributed prior to the ceremony and signed forms are collected after the swearing-in.
